To help the next generation understand ecology issues and gain experience in the field that helps lead to a meaningful career, Ducks Unlimited has developed the Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation and Management Certification.
Created by the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation and delivered through iCEV, the certification exam addresses 12 key areas of wildlife ecology:
North American Model of Wildlife Conservation
Wildlife Population Ecology
Wildlife ID Series
Principles of Habitat Conservation & Management
Forests: Conservation & Management
Grasslands: Conservation & Management
Wetlands: Conservation & Management
Wetlands: Ecosystem Goods & Services

“Today’s students will go on to craft and enact the policies that protect our natural resources,” said Mark Horobetz, Ducks Unlimited manager of youth and education programs. “It’s important that students understand not only the conservation and ecology of wildlife and wildlife habitat but also their personal roles as future stewards. That’s why this certification is important to Ducks Unlimited.”
The Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation and Management certification is the latest to utilize iCEV as its testing platform. Other certifying bodies include Express Employment Professionals, American Meat Science Association, Elanco, Bayer CropScience, Benz School of Floral Design, National Collegiate Livestock Coaches Association, Equipment & Engine Training Council and Southwest Airlines.
“Earning the Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation & Management Certification will give individuals the competencies and confidence they need in order to pursue careers in wildlife ecology,” said CEV Multimedia Vice President of Brand Management Clayton Franklin. “With the backing of a respected organization such as Ducks Unlimited, this certification will be valuable for students as well as working professionals.”
The certification will be available in fall 2019.
